LGC welcomes a new season of good health
A fresh feel of 2012 opened the Lina Group of Companies’ first working day of the year through the accustomed People Engagement Program (PEP) on January 2. The gathering was graced through a Holy Mass followed by the flag raising ceremony and a morning exercise.
Company presidents inspired the crowd through their encouraging words on the promise of a better year for LGC through constant perseverance and working together for long-time success.
Getting into the right shape

Themed “A new season of good health,” LGC celebrated the second year of its health and wellness initiative tagged as Live Life @ LGC.
Noteworthy results on the employees’ overall wellness were reported since its initial launch on January 3 of the previous year.
A quarterly Weigh-In program welcomed the year through a 2012 Wellness Card. In addition, Weight Watch Contenders were recognized to encourage the rest of the group to be in their best shape and within their prescribed weight standard.
Alongside the event, a pledge board was unveiled to renew the LGC good life and healthy lifestyle commitment for 2012.
Keeping tidy
A mid-year ADL’s Tidiest Challenge awarding presented the top 10 offices which adhered to the 5S standards based on the audit committee. The U-Freight / U-Ocean office was awarded first place for the last quarter of 2011.
Quality Assurance Head, Engr. Rene Reyes, addressed that 5S is not merely a program because programs end. Instead; 5S should be a way of life.
Social initiative
In spirit of social concern, Cargohaus, through its Director Ann Magat, handed to LGC Chairman Bert Lina a check amounting to a hundred thousand Pesos for the Typhoon Sendong victims. This is LGC’s way of giving back for the positive and successful 2011 they had.
The program concluded through Chairman Bert Lina’s encouragement to continue living a good life and a healthy lifestyle to bring out the best of them at work.
